3D animation / Performance art / Molecular gastronomy

Anew+ stems from my imagination in the form of a “what if” question: what if we exhaust most of food resources in the world due to climate crises and countless products fill up the land?” Anew+ satirizes a bleak future where trash becomes an alternative food resource with resource depletion and environmental destruction caused by overconsumption.
The basic concept of the work is that people will be able to extract chemical elements from overflowing incorruptible trash for over 500 years, such as plastics, metal, and glass, and recombine these elements to make edible food using the method of molecular gastronomy. Based on concrete research on the forms and properties of chemical elements humans need to survive, I designed a selection of molecular gastronomy food products made from trash in a 3d graphic.
3D Animation Advertising Poster
Thistopia featured three distinct 3D molecular gastronomy animations showing provocative "recipes": for example, "170 plastic bottles, 1250 bolts, 99 silicone ladles become anewtasty pork chop." The ad also included a QR code to RSVP for an exclusive Anew+ tasting event.

At this tasting event, I presented a molecular gastronomy 'omelette' that emulated my 3D omelette design, introduced on the ad. Through performance art, it was promoted as a luxurious meal from 2077 created by revolutionary technology. Tasting this "trash food" provoked discomfort and challenged participants to reconsider notions of food, waste, and survival.
